Major Robert Beverley, Sr, the historian, was born in Yorkshire, England and emigrated from England to Virginia ca 1663. He settled in Middlesex County and married twice. Mary, his first wife died in 1678 and a year later he married Katherine Hone. He died in 1687 leaving issue by both his wives.
